I said several posts ago that no one can disagree with this point. However,
it doesn't mean that the coaching of Jackson had nothing to do with the
success of the Bulls and the Lakers, as you seemed to be insisting until
your next-to-last post.

I'm not *trying* to win the "debate" - there's no trying involved, because
the main thrust of your thesis was untenable from the very beginning. I
suspect you engaged in this just to badger me, anyway.

Well, that sums it up.

We're not talking about "negatives" here, to use a campaign term. We're
talking about a lack of "positives", as in your stubborn refusal to admit
any agency of Jackson in the success of his teams until your next-to-last
post in this thread.

OK, let me get this straight. So, when a player says something positive
about a coach, his words should be dismissed as mere pandering (according
to your earlier posts), but when a player says nothing negative, his word
is gold?

Mercer is the person who has the highest ppg on that team. Is that
satisfactory?

>Forget Mason and Matlock. Perhaps Ben Stone from Law and Order?

I don't know who these people that you keep referring to are (although I've
heard the name Perry Mason). I don't watch much TV, except for the Celtics,
and occasionally some other pro or college game.

>Well I guess you told him, huh? Did you get some kind of juvenile pleasure?

I told him what?! I simply expressed my annoyance without cussing him out
or anything like that. You're the one who's being juvenile.

You engaged me in this "debate", which, I should have realized from the
very beginning, was just your way of getting back at me. Alex has
"succumbed to unsubscribing" before, for various reasons. People do that
all the time - in the offseason, when there's no hope left in the season,
when they don't have the time, when they go on vacation etc.

It's amazing! You upbraid me for "making decisions on what people should or
shouldn't say" while telling all this time that I shouldnt've said the
things I said on this list. Evidently, you think you have the right to make
these decisions, but I don't. Would you care to explain to me what gives
you that right?

I think you should print the last sentence in large font and tape it to
your monitor.

That just impressed the hell out of me. What is "it" that I don't seem to
get? If they have such strong opinions on the matter, perhaps they should
send them directly to me, or post them to the list.
