Oooohhh...I'm soooooooooooo scared! :-) Actually, they were
both out here for Waterfest last year, Potterman driving
a borrowed VR6 CSP ride and Meze in his Scirocco. If
you apply the PAX factor to equalize cars, I finished
third overall. First went to Alan Banks' GS GTI VR6, and
second went to a guy in a Rabbit PICKUP that I ran into
yesterday at the Harrisburg ProSolo. I hope that ND
sends Vic out here this year, so that I can make it a
hat-trick against the left-coast's finest VW
drivers. Heck, he can even drive my car, and then we
won't need to use the PAX factor. :-) Seriously, though,
I'm really off of my game this season, and would
be putting my own money on Vic if he were to make the trip.
I've heard that he can drive anything fast, and he has the
nationals trophy in Schroeder's old A3 Golf Sport to
prove it.

No, I only spit on New Beetles. After all of the hassles that
I've had with my A3 thanks to VW, I have joined Chris Franson
and others in declaring that I will *never* buy another new
VW/Audi product. The only thing that they can do to change
my mind is deliver a GTI GLX 4-Motion to our shores for
under $22k, and I'd still have to give it serious consideration
even then. Pity, since an AWD TT would likely have been my
next new car.

I'd have to drive one to see, but I have zero motivation to
go to the dealer and even see one let alone drive it. My A3
is a blast to drive on the streets, but handles like a
minivan when I need it handling like a Type-R. To answer
your private e-mail question about updating a certain web
site, I don't even have the motivation to do that any more.
Chalk it up to VW's last-rate customer service and support.

At Harrisburg yesterday, I talked three people out of even
going to an Audi dealer for a TT test drive. Sorry, but
my days of being VWofA's good-will ambassador are over,
and you'd be surprised at how much clout I have being the
only person campaigning a 1990's VW in a series that they
used to be the title sponsor of.....
