Driverfest '99 Goodies Part 2

CAR SHOW, historical volkswagen and motorsports
displays among many events at driversfest '99

Fort Wayne, Ind. (June 17, 1999) ? From historical Volkswagen displays to
motorsports displays, a "Drive and Shine" car show to new car test drives, a
performance driving clinic and much more, DriversFest '99 promises to be a
day
to remember for all Volkswagen enthusiasts ? past, present and future.

DriversFest '99 will take place at Jones Beach State Park, Long Island,
N.Y.,
Saturday, August 28, 1999, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to enter their classic or custom Volkswagens in the
first-ever DriversFest "Drive and Shine" Car Show. Judges will be
representatives from various Volkswagen enthusiast clubs; prizes will be
awarded. The Volkswagen historical displays will showcase rare and unique
vehicles from years passed, and the motorsports displays will give attendees
a
look at formula vees, rally cars, club racers and drag cars.

According to Bill Rodgers, Volkswagen of America's Chairperson for
DriversFest
'99, no Volkswagen enthusiast should miss this car show. "The DriversFest
car
show will be the ultimate event for Volkswagen enthusiasts. They can take
part
in the "Drive and Shine" competition and visit the stunning historical and
motorsports displays. This car show will build on the best of local and
regional shows and set the stage for all future national car shows."

In addition to the car show, DriversFest '99 will feature drive events.
These
include a performance driving clinic and new car test drives. DriversFest
'99
performance driving clinic participants can see their name on the leaders
board
after putting a new Volkswagen through the paces on a challenging
closed-course,
while under the instruction of a professional driver. The new car test
drives
will enable participants to drive an array of the latest Volkswagen models.

The car show and drive events are just two aspects of DriversFest '99.
Other
featured activities include a daylong music festival featuring The Verve
Pipe,
Dishwalla, Grand Funk Railroad, The Atomic Fireballs and more. In addition,
DriversFest '99 will include a lifestyle exhibition and a variety of sports
and
outdoor activities on the Jones Beach State Park grounds.

All Volkswagen devotees are invited to attend DriversFest '99 ? whether a
