There is something to say about them making it to this point in pretty good 
condition, though.  It speaks of a certain amount of character.  They did 
lose Keith Moon along the way, but that was his personal choice.  When you 
look at some of the other musicians of the era, like David Crosby, for 
example, then it looks like TED have lived pretty moral, conservative lives.

One interesting point that the letter under discussion suggested is that The 
Who makes music for white guys, like Wagner for the Third Reicht or 
something.  I'd like to put forward the notion that it's a type of Celtic 
music that speaks to the racial memory.  After all, Simon T. says music is 
genetic.  Maybe he's right.
