The average speed feature of the MFA takes a reading every three seconds (I think).  I think the reason on some cars that it averages a bit low might be because the first reading it takes may be a zero as it starts gathering the info.  A zero mph reading average with a bunch of 70's might give you 66 mph average.  Just a thought.  If you set it at 70 with the cruise and watch it...if it increase one or two mph, then it did record a number much lower than 70 mph at first.

The only time I see real changes in speed with the cruise is on inclines. I was driving on relatively level surface for a mile or two and the average didn't change. I'm gonna try it under a few different conditions and see what happens.

 If you closely watch your speedo during cruise control, it does NOT stay at a constant speed. It will drop off 3-5mph every now and then before the engine kicks in to maintain the proper setting. Also, if u think about it......having 66 displayed on your computer while your speedo is reading 70 is a huge difference at that speed.
