Re: A/C Experiences?

Steve,

I have a 95 GLX, Sequoia Green, w/black cloth interior. I reside in
Austin TX. The days around here have been averaging in the mid to upper
90's for the past month or two. I have noticed that the A/C takes up to
10 minutes of continuous driving (spinning the compressor above idle
speed) to cool down the car once it has sat in the afternoon sun for a
while. And as I drive, my normal fan speed setting is 2 and I usually
keep the air recycle switch on as well. I've found that the black dash
seems to absorb a tremendous amount of heat and I think part of the
problem in cooling the car is cooling the air and components inside the
dash. I found that a good silver/reflective windshield sun screen above
the dash when parked in the sun gives the A/C a head start and keeps the
dash (and my FREAKING steering wheel!!) much cooler.

Later,

Jettamann
