Raef's contract in perspective

Sean and Jim have been going back and forth on whether Raef has "one of
the worst contracts in recent years", or if it's "reasonable" for his
skills. Here's some perspective in terms of other recent big man
contracts.

Raef makes an average of 10 mill per year.
That's about the same as Divac and Brad Miller, and less than Ilgauskas.

In todays NBA, decent centers like Nazhr, Keon, Olowakandi got roughly 5
million dollar per year contracts in free agency. So I'd say Raef's
talent doesn't justify his salary, but he's still very skilled and
efficient. It's better than resigning inefficient Antoine to 13
mill/year long term.

I'm happy with him.

I don't agree with you on Raef, but time will tell which of us is right.
I just think his talent doesn't justify his salary

... I just don't agree with Raef coming back due to a) his contract b)
his skills and c)the idea that getting rid of cap space and financial
flexibility for anything less than a true star is bad business in the
NBA..
