Re: Raef's contract in perspective

LaFrentz's contract is supposedly the 51st highest in the league, overall,
according to RealGM. I am not saying that his is a bargain basement
contract, I just don't think it is outlandish when Van Horn is ranked #20
and I'd rather have LeFrentz.

Sean and Jim have been going back and forth on whether Raef has "one of
the worst contracts in recent years", or if it's "reasonable" for his
skills. Here's some perspective in terms of other recent big man
contracts.

Raef makes an average of 10 mill per year.
That's about the same as Divac and Brad Miller, and less than Ilgauskas.

In todays NBA, decent centers like Nazhr, Keon, Olowakandi got roughly 5
million dollar per year contracts in free agency. So I'd say Raef's
talent doesn't justify his salary, but he's still very skilled and
efficient. It's better than resigning inefficient Antoine to 13
mill/year long term.

I'm happy with him.
