most players in the league can not both run the fast break and play half
court. Danny's statement is so overstating the obvious that it is
almost a ridiculous thing to say
-----------------------------------------------------------

But Ainge's statements do give a little insight into draft strategy.

If the C's were sticking with halfcourt, toughguys , & the possession
offense, then Collison, Sweetney, Rickert, Troy Bell, Blake, are all
hardnosed and mature. Obie would give them PT early, like Bremer.

But now that Ainge wants halfcourt/fullcourt players, the runners like
Villanueva, Gaines, Ridnour and the Kentucky boys (Estill, Bogans),
could get longer looks. They've played some halfcourt against good
competition (except Villanueva), and are all bigtime defenders (except
Ridnour).
I suspect Obie would bench these guys early, like Kedrick.

Fyi, the C's were scheduled to workout Jerome Beasley (6'10" 241lb JC
player) yesterday, now that Wallace is back in town. He's working out
for lots of teams, after earning MVP at Portsmouth. Eric Williams was
MVP of that tournament back in the day also.
