Sesar? Again, why do some on this list keep pushing non-NBA
talent as the answer to our problems? Omar Cook; Khalid El-Amin; Josip
Sesar? Hey. Kris Clack is still out there.
Well there's non-NBA in the sense of not making the NBA (like Cook and
Clack) and then there's non-NBA in the foreign mold, which is totally
different. Stojakovic, Radja, Sabonis, even Pau Gasol and Nowitski, are
drafted on rights alone, and with the knowledge that the army or government
can intervene. Now that foreign talent has caught up somewhat with US
talent (see Sacto and Dallas), drafting the rights to a foreign player,
even knowing that they won't come over immediately, is part of sound draft
policy. It's no worse than having to draft a 19-yr-old US player and find
some place to stash him for 3 years until he's mature enough to play. And
a proven Croatian star is nothing to sneeze at these days.
