The 6-foot Tinsley is the best of what is considered a weak crop of
point guards this year. Whether the Celtics would want to use a lottery
pick to fill a need is debatable, particularly if better players are
available at that slot. Much depends on Celtics coach Jim O'Brien's
preliminary plans to use Antoine Walker at the point for significant
stretches next season.cw0

Meanwhile, the Celtics expect to re-sign point guard Milt Palacio and
have both Kenny Anderson and Randy Brown under contract for two more
years. A decision is also pending on free agent Chris Herren. Perhaps
then the Celtics could wait until the 21st overall pick, which they own
via Phoenix, to address the point guard spot.

As for Murphy, Bradley, Randolph and Gasol, each would fill a definite
Celtics need for help up front, particularly if Walker is roaming the
perimeter. The 7-1 Gasol could be the best of the lot, but he is
committed to Barcelona for the upcoming season. Wallace had plenty of
company in scouting Gasol in Europe last week, and many feel he could be
worth the one-year wait. Randolph is a 6-9, 270-pound bruiser who came
on strong as a post-up player toward the end of the season.

Bradley and Murphy, each 6-11, are projected as power forwards.
