I was hoping that post got lost after Friday and Saturday! But,
realistically, you are right. Despite playing sustained brilliant ball for
weeks, they have just drawn about even, and still have 7 of their next nine
on the road. Those consecutive games against Orlando and Milwaukee are
going to be key now. None of the three games leading up to those two are
gimmes, either. If they take at least one of those (at Pheonix, Minnesota,
at Philly) AND both of the games against the other 8th spot contenders, then
I think they'll have put themselves in a solid position.

I fully agree with that. Even this run in itself is good experience. The
longer it continues the better. If it ends up in the playoffs, that's much
better still.

Boy did you pick the wrong time to get busy. My theories? First and
foremost, Antoine. He's playing at an all-NBA level, in a well rounded way.
He's doing a lot more than scoring, and doing it all exactly when it is
required. Consider this: Kenny and Vitaly are both strugling. Pierce is
playing OK, but not any better than earlier in the year, and shooting worse.
I can hardly remember what was so exciting about Adrian Griffin. And the
team is rolling. Who do you think is the team MVP? No one on the team can
carry it like Antoine. Improved contributions from Battie, Barros and
Williams have helped, but there is no doubt who is fueling this playoff run.
The Celtics captain is playing like a Celtics captain should, and the rest
of the team is feeding off of it.
