Re: Pippen Professional?

I don't think Chuck needs to say another public word about this matter (except
to Pippi's face if he cares to). He's already won. Honestly I doubt even a
fraction of public opinion would come down on the side of Pippen Longstockings
after his latest act. After all Barkley was the league's second leading
rebounder at 6-4 1/2 ("fat butt" and all). Meanwhile, Pippen freaking once
again shows he has no sense at all of what values ought to go with being a man
-- or how to act like anything other than a prima donna girlie-man -- as shown
by his latest self-addicted whining, moaning and general pansiness. It could be
that he was raised without a father or something. It sounds to me like Pipi
(what with those fake non-prescription specs he wears) was raised in an
all-fruit ballet/discodance studio or maybe by an itinerant group of Parisian
street mimes. Now I know Alex Wang and other more clear-thinking people on this
list than moi tend to stress their respect for Pippen as a player, and that's
just fine. I only hope Alex isn't into Marcel Marceau. I'm honestly fed up with
mimes: they are practically everywhere these days (two major mime colleges in
Paris just keep pumping out fresh grads) and they give people nightmares. They
need to be contained. Anyway, not that either player needs clothing from the
Salvation Army, but I think it is clear Charles Barkley would NOT have re-signed
for only 1 million per year in Houston if it had not been for Pippen and a
chance to win. If Michael Jordan actually backs up Pipiface on this after seeing
his own name dragged into it publically, then I'll have lost a lot of respect
for his judgement and intelligence. The only "good" these sort of national TV
whine-a-thons have is that they remind fans that not all NBA players are
respectable people, but that the league (like the world at large) also includes
such pathetic men with lots of wealth but next to no brains, values or
self-awareness. So I agree with Mark and TJ, in case this isn't clear. Joe
