RE: voting

I still don't see it as a "major" attitude problem. Pippen does have his
moments of frustration and it is normal given that he constantly has to
put up with comparisons to the "greatest player the game has seen."
Pippen is a great player - irrespective of your opinion or mine. As to
whether he was great simply because he played with Jordan is about as
futile a discussion as to whether Parish and McHale were great because
they played with Bird.

If you say that Pippen is on the older side and may become prone to
injuries on account of his age, that's far more reasonable. In any case,
we are not building the franchise around Pippen, he is only a part of
it.

As for Pippen not missing $25, 000.00 because he makes over 1 million;
whereas you and I would, is a really specious argument. Take it as a
percentage of what he earns. For the purposes of this discussion, if his
salary is 2.7 million and he is supposed to pay out 25 000.00, that
works out to 0.92%. You can bet your life that I could afford to throw
away 1% of my salary and not feel the pinch. When you are talking
salaries that superstars are paid, Pippen jolly well does not get his
due. If, however, you compare his salary to yours and mine, sure, he
gets a little bit more! But don't forget he'll retire in the next five
years, while I'll continue working for the next thirty-five AND my
salary will increase.

It seems to me that your personal dislike of Pippen is clouding your
judgement of his abilities as a player. I felt the same way about
Mourning a few years ago, when he was on the block. There was some
discussion on the list that Boston try to acquire him and he was quoted
as saying he would never in his life consider playing here. It ticked me
off and I said so. However, as one of the list members pointed out (I
think it was Adam), I may dislike him personally; it still doesn't take
away his competence as a basketball player.
