Who?  Most team GM's are people you've never heard of before, or after for
that matter.  And if you look at the sorry state of most teams in the
league, I'm not sure there are all that many good GMs.  I think if the
league keeps inbreeding, by swaping GMs and coaches, it will ultimately
hurt the game.

Pitino's Basketball knowledge and savy are off the scale, compared to ML. 
I think our objection was that ML had all that power and no clue as to what
to do with it.  I know I'm about to open up the whole "the pro game is
different" argument, but Pitino did build a championship team in Kentuky. 
Now, I'm not saying that the this equates an NBA contender, but surely most
of the exprience he gained is applicable at the next level.  Unlike Carr
who came in with Zero expierence on ANY level.

Don't forget, it's been awhile since he coached the

True there is a difference, and Pitino may fail.  But I don't see his
college experience as a negative.  How can time spent learning the game,
and not managing egos,  be bad?
