Honestly, you "IT'S HARD proponents" who like that better than WHO BY
NUMBERS or WHO ARE YOU amaze me ! Truthfully, I don't understand
how anyone could like IT'S HARD better than those other two albums.
But apparently, many of you do. I cannot argue with that. The facts are
there: you *like* IT'S HARD ! You *really* like it ! :-)

I see the last four studio WHO albums as a slow slide down a hill towards
mediocrity ("You're sliding down the hill like me..."). Each is less enjoy-
able than the previous one.

Mind you, in my early days of WHO collecting, I hardly ever listened to WHO
BY NUMBERS or WHO ARE YOU. I didn't *hate* them, I just thought there
was other WHO material more deserving of my time. But once I turned 30,
those albums came sharply into focus. Now I play them all the time !

Just to be fair & opened minded, I'll listen to IT'S HARD today & see if it's
any more "focused" for me. Maybe I'll learn to like it ! Besides, anyone
can do anything if they hold the right cards.......OK, OK, sorry about that !

An album of *new studio* material has been abandoned in favor of live tracks
from some of the shows at the end of 1999. Which reminds me of Daltrey's
comment back then concerning a possible new studio album. Paraphrasing:
"If the new songs we're writing are crap, we won't release them." Hmmm.....
