Some thoughts and questions
Hello All
Just got back from uni for my easter break, and it
is nice to hear about the Who again (had to plough through over 1500 messages in
my inbox though- are more people subscribed to this list than ever I
wonder?).
This news about Pete's tour sounds encouraging- I
just hope he plays in England and in particular up North where I study. And
let's hope he's not ill.
Although behind the times I have bought Avatar, and
think it is brilliant, especially the Billy Nicholls tracks.
On the It's Hard debate, after all I'd heard on
this list I really didn't want to like it, but I have to admit that I think it
is their best post-Quad album. WBN and WAY have their moments but suffer from
very weak songs (like Had Enough), FD just doesn't sound right (though the bonus
tracks are excellent, especially the live Quiet One). IH has some of my
favourite Who tracks (Athena, Eminence Front) and the live bonus tracks sound
just like the Who-live sound of earlier years (although I already have these
tracks on a bootleg somewhere).
Does anyone know anything about the possible new
Who album being talked about at Christmas time? Has this been
abandoned?
Thanks,
Tom
PS. In my cd player is Sandinista by The Clash, the
best of Faith No More and Who's Next.
