Re: The buzzing note theory
Kudos to Bruce's detective work. TKAA soundtrack version of Happy Jack is
definately Leeds. After just listening to both, the bass fret-buzz at the
end is identical as well as a few other tell-tale guitar hits and bass notes
throughout the song. Funny how MCA hides a piece of the mythical Leeds show
right under our noses since 1979. Add that to my list of beefs with MCA.
Those couple of "non-live" Maximum BBC cuts (Heaven & Hell, etc.) most likely
were actually aired by the BBC at the time and not added by the bootlegger.
All of the tunes on those BBC shows were recorded before-hand anyway, it
shouldn't be surprising that a couple of already released songs were added,
possibly just to fill up the time slot. Other bands appearing on the BBC had
studio cuts added to their "live" appearances.
