I agree with everything you said!  To some of you it probably seems
pathetic--people like me STILL pleading for The Who to go on.  I know the
argument is that The Who is, in Pete's words, "a spent force creatively."
I don't buy it.  They could make music just as wonderful as in the past,
and with as much creative energy.  If people want to call them dinosaurs,
let them, and they can go back to their crappy "flavor of the month."  The
best music stands the test of time.  History is littered with brilliant
musicians who don't peak until their fifties.  I'm not asking them to jump
up and down, play at 120 decibels and smash their instruments, I'm just
asking them to write songs and record them.  Pete must have plenty to
write about, even within the framework of The Who.  The creative tension
is still there; these guys obviously still love/hate each other.  Besides,
now Pete doesn't have to worry about the band affecting his marriage since
it's on the rocks anyway!  Well, enough ranting...
