I called two dealers in my area. One dealer offered to do it for 
$491. The other dealer, the one I go to regularly, indicated that 
some of the work they had already performed, and they would charge 
$300.

So, it looks like the $290 you're being quoted doesn't sound quite so 
out of bounds.
