According to the factory, if you have the new style coolant, it can go 
like 100,000 miles without being changed. There was a tech
bulletin somewhere going over the differences.
I would change the fluid every two years regardless of what anyone
else says. That way you remove particulates/dirt/blowby deposits from the
coolant and keep fresh additives in there.

Remember to always use distilled water when refilling the system.
The minerals in regular tap or bottled water will eventually clog the
cooling system up, degrading its performance.

Hope this helps. Look at it this way, if you change the coolant out every
two years using the factory stuff ($22 a gallon), its like $60? to do it,
that, like regualr oil changes, is cheap insurance to keep your car
mechanically sound...
