H&R Coilovers, Autotech Stress Bar, Whipple

On Friday I brought my car to Shawn VanNeer of Momentum Motorsports
for a little suspension work. Needless to say, I learned a ton and
had a blast watching and helping out.

First H&R Coilovers (thanks Deutsche Werks) went in. I've raved about
them before so I won't do it again. Since the car was to be corner
weighted on Sunday, the height adjustment was as they come from H&R.
(Too low up front IMHO).

While the car was up on the hoist, Fedex arrived with my Whipple
Mount, so in it went. Super easy install.

Next came the Autotech UF stress bar that I had powder coated red.
Looks awesome in the engine bay.

On Sunday the car was lowered onto the scales. After 2 hours, the
car sat level, corner weights were close and front to rear bias, with
me in the drivers seat and a half tank of gas, was almost 60/40. To
get it any closer to 50/50, I'd have to physically move weight around
or set the ride height so the rear was draggin on the ground.
(Raising the front by .5" yielded *almost* 1% transfer to the rear!)
If you have access to scales for cheap its a worthwhile exercise.

Alignment is coming this week...then comes new rubber.

A few notes:

1) The whipple is a MUST HAVE. Shifter feel is MUCH MUCH better than
stock!

2) During corner weighting I noticed that the rear GAs have made
contact with the springs due to the flexing of the tires under
agressive cornering. If you plan on running the GodAwfuls for long,
better get some hub centric spacers from H&R.

Cheers,
