I'd get the A4 in Canada.

The A4 is going to more closely resemble the new Passat in it's safety and
engineering. That is, IMO, better that the current A3 situation. If you
don't agree, great, but don't flame me, like everyone else, I have both an
asshole and an opinion.

I have heard reports of getting a better deal by buying a car in Canada due
to the current exchange rate, but that might not apply to you since you
might pay in Canadian $$$?
