Re: smelly vents



Maybe this is unrelated to your problem, but I have had antifreeze smell
coming out of the vents with all four VWs I have owned.  This occurs on
start up in the morning and is especially present when it is extremely
cold.  I always figured it was contraction of the seals at the connection of
the line to the heater core.  I have had some experienced mechanics confirm
that VWs are notorious for this.
