Joel,

check to see that your wheels/tires are properly balanced.  I have the
same symptoms on my Jetta GLX, I took a look at the front right rim and
noticed that a couple of the wheel weights had disappeared.  I'm running
17" rims/tires and the weights they had to use were the stick on kind
and that's how I realized what was causing the shimmy.  The stick on
weights left the sticky backing on the rim when they disappeared.
