I have GOT to agree! Has any of you old rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled
folks EVER hear of a syncro problem due to a synthetic oil? Hell, the
only complaint I ever heard of was with the self-machining bit, and
syncro problems were only heard of at 80-100,000 miles.

This is an 02A MAJOR problem that VW is trying to cover up: it just
ain't up to snuff. VW got cheap, and is trying to make US pay for it.

All I can say is that if I get any guff at all from VW if my tranny
goes, they'll get a letter from my lawyer (who also happens to be my
brother-in-law, who also happens to be a senior partner in a major
DC law firm), and if need be, I'll take them to court.

What's the upper limit for small claims court anyway? We're talking
about a tranny and labor that's $2500 at least, right?
