Patrick you shouldn't have to drain the oil to install the oil pressure sensor.
The sensor installs on the oil filter housing and replaces the idiot light sensor.
You can get a sensor that will accomodate both the idiot light and the oil pressure
sensor. I have installed the VDO gauge and it can be done in less than an hour.
