Your car has carpet?  Mine came with some fuzzy black "material"... anyways, 
ab-so-FUCKING-lutely the warranty should cover it after 4 months.  Don't EVEN let some
nimrod service writer (or service manager) try to tell you otherwise - demand to see the 
GM of the dealership immediatley, and/or use their phone to call the regional VW rep.
