Fwd: Who should start tanking the season?

My comments about Chad Ford and tanking.

>To quote Christine Lavin, "I'm not much of a mathematician, but even I can
>see..." that a 2.9% chance of getting the pick you want is not an
>enticement to tank the season. If Danny likes the lottery so much, go to
>the convenience store and buy a flamin' ticket. Same for all those
>enthusiasts who hope the C's crash and burn their way to New Jersey next June.
>
>The ONLY way I want to be in New Jersey in June is if we're playing the
>Nets for the EC championship.
>
>Maybe it's not sensible, but I don't root for my team to lose. There are,
>to my mind, certain rules which are NOT broken. That's why last night, I
>was hoping the Nets would beat L.A. Because I root for EVERYONE who plays
>against the Lakers.
>
>No tanking, period. If I thought the C's were deliberately tanking, I'd
>be hollering loud enough to be heard up in Boston.
>
>And Chad Ford is an insufferably smug iconoclastic fool who should be
>charged with grand larceny for collecting a paycheck.
