Re: Ward?

Doesn't matter if he would.
1. we don't have a roster spot
2. if his contract is guaranteed, as I imagine it is, he gets paid the 6MM regardless with whatever he gets paid by the team signing him merely reducing the portion of that 6MM Phoenix has to pay. No effect on the player's paycheck.
3. and FWIW, we are not under the cap to claim him off waivers vs waiting to see if he clears - i.e. others have a much better shot

4. I think saying he can quarterback an offense "much better" than anyone we already have involves a lot of grass is greener syndrome, while assigning the real problems with the offense to the wrong place

And while I'm on that tangent, with all the Obie bashing going on, doesn't anyone feel the players have any responsibility for their on court behavior? I was at last night's monstrosity and I certainly didn't see Obie personally telling Pierce -who unlike Walter should be expected to act better- to take an unnecessary 3 with 17 freaking seconds still on the clock or calling a play that would involve that. I'm not saying Obie is completely without fault nor that Pierce is the only one who should shoulder some blame. Just that there seems to be some obsession driven tunnel vision going on in how things get viewed

Charlie Ward's contract for this year is over 6 million dollars. Do you
think he would sign for the minimum?
