Are they trying to trade Battie because they think he won't hold up? Is
superfluous? A bad influence? 
Even given the cap economics, Brevin Knight doesn't seem like a fair return.
Griffin would be if he weren't a murderous maniac. The only way this makes
sense is if they think "Kedrick" Perkins (who, Ira Winderman reports, started
last night for the Celtics :>) is ready to be a member of the big man rotation
and needs Battie's minutes. 
I'm not crazy about trading either Battie or Williams, but maybe there's
something more to it, something the fans are not aware of.
