What about getting someone who could mentor Banks?
What about getting a pure PG? And if you just want a
6'2 undrafted combo guard, WHY NOT USE THE ONE ALREADY
ON OUR ROSTER? Madness.

There has got to be something else going on, like a trade involving Bremer. I know nothing about James, but it does seem like he's another Bremer. And this thing about Hunter and James having the same agent....neither of them should have so much attraction as to effect a "favor" signing of the other, so could this really be a coincidence? And what about the claim that DA was after James all along? Did they get the wrong James? I have no idea what this is all about. I just hope that Mike James is another one of those DA discoveries, like Banks and Hunter (and, we hope, Perkins?). But, if he's ready to break out at PG, why were the Heat desperate for a point then? Nobody had a better view of him than Riley. Egg, can you fill us in on what the thinking might be behind all this?

PS oh, and what about the rumor that Utah might be after Toine with those oodles of cap space they have?
PPS You just have marvel at the management of the best teams, like San Antonio. They get Turkoglu and Mercer for the expiring contract of Ferry - all because they had cap space to facilitate a trade (and add Nesterovic, Horry, and who knows whom else?). Just brilliant management. That's why they've been the champs with two different teams in the last 5 years. The moves by Sacramento and Minny aren't too shabby either. (The Lakes, meanwhile, are playing with two decks of cards, so that doesn't really count). We? McCarty, Blount, Mike James...perhaps with Mike Batiste, John Doe, and Joe Blow on the way. Fleece patrons will need to memorize the program to figure out who's playing for the Celtics. But as long as they give #23 to James, someone's is bound to get excited at the Fleece, if not for long...Oh well, at least they didn't blow the draft like last time.
