Re: Terrific Balanced Scoring

Or Walker to have gotten more than 6 rebounds and 3 assists, to have
not committed 4 turnovers, nor allowed ObNeal 20 rebounds and 23
points? Or how about if PGbs Delk and Bremer had combined for more
than 2 assists?
Steve - I agree that Walker has been hitting his threes (.556% to his
season .323%), and it does appear that Artest just might have Pierce's
number, since the only time Pierce has shot well was late in game one
after Artest was in foul trouble and subsequently fouled out. Artest
reminds me of Kelvin Martin in that we consider them McNasty and
McFilthy, yet secretly wish they were playing for us.
But since you persist in comparing Pierce with Walker, let us not
overlook that after two games, despite Pierce's poor shooting, he is
outdoing Toine10 RPG to 7, 6 APG to 4, 27 PPG to 20.5, and .923 FT%
to Toine's .500 FT%.
Obviously we need both players to come up big in this series. But what
seems to have been overlooked by you and others in the inevitable
comparisons of the two, is that it is Pierce, not Walker, who is constantly
double and triple-teamed.
Without Pierce to draw the defense, no doubt Walker's career shooting
stats would even be worse than they are.
''IMPOSSIBLE'' cried the maddened thousands.
