Baker

In essence, the Celts are getting Baker in exchange for
Rodney Rogers, Anderson, Forte, Potapenko AND Kedrick
Brown etc.

There is no way Gaston will re-sign any first rounders in
the future, unless said players simply fail to develop
and end up being worthless (e.g. one million per year).
Hey, that's what we offered Rogers to save a few bucks.

No point in asking for a "sweetener" draft pick. Through
2006, Boston will have three roster players earning 40
million between them. That's the salary cap, folks.

Although this trade is far from done (finger's crossed),
I think we should lock Wallace back in his parent's
basement where he belongs.

This is an extremely high risk, almost lunatic trade.

Yes they are getting a starting center when healthy, but
Obie will probably have Vin back to jacking up his low-
percentage jumpers again. Even in the rosiest scenario,
Vin is a long way from being the double-double +
shotblocker that Battie was in the playoffs for us. We
profited from defense, speed and intensity from our
center, not a fat, lazy, all-talk, grossly overpaid, NBA
leper player. Chris Wallace might as well do a three-way
to bring Shawn Kemp to Boston as well. Spend 50+ million
just to stay out of the luxury cap for a year. Gee that's
brilliant.
