Sorry James and JB, I mistyped the newspaper name, it was in the "NY
Post" not the Times.

Archive Nov 25, 2002; MARC BERMAN article "CHANEY: EXCEPTION DEAL WOULD
BE BIG".    The website is charging for the article now so can't cut and
paste.

The deal would have been good for Boston/ bad for Baker.  But keeping
Vin and his potential for clicking later in the season (and making the
C's pretty scary) is o.k.

Baker for Spree and the injury exception?  And the Celtics BT turned
that
down?  The Knicks must have wanted a lot more then just Baker.

Spree and a lower $ and shorter contract for Vin Baker? In a heart beat.
And I like Baker.  But really.
