Hi Rich, I won't post the whole thing again but I fully agree with what you 
wrote. Pierce is a good rebounder for his position. He's not 
one-dimensional. I used the steals stat because Pierce was number 2 in the 
whole league the year before at all positions. He's great at it. This shows 
that Walker, while horribly imperfect in scoring efficiency and 
underathletic/indifferent at times on defense, still has top strengths not 
reflected at all in the Athlon measurement. Jim Mennino made some good 
points about its flaws, even in the specific area (scoring efficiency) it 
purports to most accurately measure.

Pierce and Walker are both very good players obviously. Pierce, if not 
nearly as much as Walker, has actually been underrated until now. I sense 
that will all change this year (Pierce seems more and more a lock for the 
All Star game if he stays healthy) and, more importantly, that this will 
translate into more wins for the team.
