Re: Rooks and LaFrentz (was: Is Kedrick Brown the 'real deal' or not?)

The question though is would LeFrantz make the Celtics a better TEAM. (This
is a question not a statement)

The number of Celtics in the HOF is because of the TEAM they played on.
(I.e. The influence of the other players on the team to the overall success
of the team.)
By themselves or on a losing team, many would not have made the HOF or won a
championship. IMO.

Walker is a talented player. By himself. But, does he make anyone around
him better?

The Celtics have always been successful with smart, team oriented, players
from winning programs. If "two stars" could win a championship by
themselves, Stockton and Malone would have a few by now. So it is obvious
that it takes more then a HOF PG and a "traditional" PF (who also will be
in the HOF). It requires the blending of "star players" and "team oriented
players" who make each other better. The sum must be greater then the parts
to win.

Cousy made other players better by getting them the pass "when and where" it
was effective for his teammate to score. As did Bird, as well as so many
other things he did.
Hondo did it his way, Russell with rebounding and altering shots and by
being the hardest working and smartest player on the floor, Cowens with
effort above and beyond anyone else on the floor, Parish, JoJo, etc... All
these players made the effort to make the other players better as part of a
team then they were individually.

The question is, "Would this define Walker?"
