RE: BSG Says Walker Out Of Control

Of course Walker should be shifted to small forward.
He is undersized at PF, and it doesn't take a
particularly adept mind to think of moving him to SF.
It's rather obvious. But the Celts cannot do it now
because of their dearth of quality big men. Rather
than pick up another Potapenko/Declerq player to share
C/PF duties with Toine primarily at SF... it would
ideally be preferable (in my mind) to go all out for a
REAL quality center. Then we can leave Toine at PF
(where he is comfortable) as well as leave Pierce at
SF (where he is more comfortable). Remember when
Pitino offered what, 3 picks, for J. Oneal and
Portland actually turned them down? Not a bad offer
in hindsight thus far. I will credit that an Antonio
or Dale Davis would be a huge addition to this team.
ANY big men or point guards would be an excellent and
much needed addition. But I would rather have J Oneal
or even a Geiger.

Your simplistic attack on my attack is at best
diverting also. You see where this leads? I wrote a
big huge paragraph attacking the "straw men" -
actually, I was attacking the argument presented by
these straw people - and all you can do to disassemble
it is that weak statement? Is that supposed to change
my mind?

The last player I think of when I think of Walker is a
young Cliff Robinson. The young Cliff Robinson had an
unrefined offensive game featuring little passing,
zero post play, and aggressive athletic defense. The
young Clifford Robinson averaged in his first three
years about 10 points, 60% FT, and slightly more than
one assist and 4 boards. Totally way off base.

But maybe you do have a point...
Maybe I'm being too harsh....
Ok. So lets compare Walker's stats now with the
veteran Cliff Robinson of now.

Cliff Robinson is averaging thus far 16 points, 2
assists, 5 rebounds, on 45% FG shooting and 69% FT
shooting. AND he plays with Jason Kidd.

Cancer Antoine is averaging 23 points, 5 assists, 9.5
rebounds, on 41 percent FG shooting and 71% FT
shooting. AND he plays with
Brown/Kenny/Palacio/Herren

You compare Antoine with a young Cliff Robinson. I
think that Antoine is a superior player to the veteran
Cliff Robinson. Quite a deviation is it? But who is
closer to the truth? Look, I have stats! And I
didn't even have to skew them in any way. Honest.

Might I also add that Antoine is shooting 37% from 3
point range. Go Toine. Keep jacking em up. I'm sure
that Toine would rather score more from down low but
has anyone watched any games? Most of the time upon
receiving the ball in the post he gets double teamed
instantly. And contrary to some opinions, he does
pass out of double teams effectively and often.

I could easily take the electron microscope that you
people use to find flaws in Toine's game and use it to
critique Paul Pierce for great effect but I won't, you
see, because I don't harbor any sort of intense hatred
of any single Celtic player to cloud my judgement.
