I can't find the origonal article, but Orlando was also ready to jetison
Bo Outlaw. It definately stated that by renouncing the pick, they are not
tied to his cap space. As I understand it , they must renounce by July
17th. Since the trading deadline is after that date, perhaps it's a pre
-emptive move.
Remember when the Bulls renounced Travis Knight?

Maybe we can offer the rights to Josip Sesar which have no cap value since
they could keep him stashed in Europe if they wanted to.

Maybe this is getting silly George, but once Orlando signed him, it would have to be for the rookie scale and they would have to take back equal salary or trade him to a team under the cap, which we are not.
The point for Orlando, is to renounce him by July 17th, as free agent season starts July 18th. Once renounced he was never a factor on their cap.
I like the way you think though. Getting something for Sesar would be good. He seems the forgotten man, quite odd after the C's went out of their way to spend the extra second round pick on him.
If we kept that pick we could have drafted a point guard in the second round, without having to give a guarrantee. Was Will Soloman available? When did Omar Cook go? It would have been nice just to take a free look.
