Re: Toine's lack of finesse



I would agree that just because someone was a great player there is no
guarantee they will make a great coach.  I guess my opinion on Bird changed
when I read his book and gained a little bit more insight into his
philosophy and principles.  He was really a disciplined guy and played
though a back injury which was far more painful than what we were led to
believe.  But even that was for a reason since he didn't want the opposition
to know how bad he was hurting.

I really do not think that Bird is a bad judge of character or talent.
Ainge...well... I don't know why we should put more stock into what he says
than Larry.

Did anyone ever get the real story behind the incident which led to
Griffin's suspension earlier this year after a fight with his teammate who
supposedly would pass him the ball enough during a game?  Has anyone heard
anything definitive on that?
