another indictment...

...for the Great Teacher, Coach and Motivator. This one is from Moiso, courtesy of the Globe. How many players has Ricky screwed up like that over his coaching career?

"The bright smile and goofy sense of humor brought to Boston by Jerome Moiso have returned after a brief absence. The rookie forward struggled and suffered under the tutelage of coach Rick Pitino. Constant sideline shouting hurt his focus. And every time Moiso made a defensive mistake, he got yanked. After a few months of NBA action, his confidence level hit rock bottom.

But now, under interim coach Jim O'Brien, Moiso has found a role that suits him as he learns the professional game. He usually can count on an average of six minutes per game (Moiso did not play in last night's nail-biter) and he can make mistakes without worrying very much about the consequences. His teammates have started to offer encouragement for every quality play Moiso makes, including a spectacular dunk off an inbounds pass against the Clippers. That one had Antoine Walker out of his seat and waving a towel.

'''It's easier this way with Coach O'Brien giving me a couple minutes here and there,'' said Moiso. ''I don't have to worry about a coach taking me out if something goes wrong. I play more free-minded. I don't worry about other things except playing. I don't have to look at the sideline and worry about something else.' "
