RE: [Celtics' Stuff Aberation II: The Sequel. Palacio pees his pa nts, Heisohn has orgasm.

Man, will y'all stop whining?

Look around the league. The "greatest player ever"
Jordan is shooting a rancid 40% from the field. Allen
Iverson sparked the 76ers into a long winning streak
by scoring 28 points a game at a 34% rate. Vince
Carter is shooting 41%. Tracy Mcgrady 42%. Of course
Stackhouse 43%. The days of the unselfish play of the
Utah Jazz, Bird and Magic are over. Nowadays, with
NBC promoting individual stars, and with all bball
players wanting to "be like Mike" the only way to win
for most teams is to have one or two well-paid stars
chucking up shots at a sub 50% rate. Everyone else is
just there to rebound, play defense and shoot the
occasional jumper.

The grass only looks greener on the other side, folks.

Just be glad that Antoine is grabbing rebounds at an
astounding rate and has significantly lowered his
turnovers.

Just be glad that when Pierce isn't scoring he also
contributes to the team by uh, chucking up more shots.

I find it amazing that when the Celtics do get two
"meaningless wins" in a row, then Jim O'Brien goes
from an idiot to an "idiot savant." Pat Riley's teams
used to win ugly too. This team is competitive
because they're playing hard. They're playing
defense. They have a good coach, a few promising
rookies, and some role players have been stepping up;
oh yeah, and two players as good as most of the
All-Stars last year. Jim O'Brien isn't a bad coach.
Is he a great coach, who knows? But he is nowhere
near as bad as Isiah Thomas. Or Rick Pitino.

What has Jim O'Brien done? He fired up his team by
getting ejected. He brings along the rookies slowly
but surely. He nurses the egos of the stars. He gets
role-players to overachieve sometimes. He no longer
gives minutes to Blount. He gets the team to run fast
breaks. He gets the team to play defense.

Show a little appreciation for this team and stop
nitpicking all the time. No one's perfect. Just look
at Jordan.
