RE: [Celtic_Pride] Moiso is traded

Roshown McLeod is a pretty decent offensive player, but not a very good
defender. He was more of a PF type at Duke, who is playing SF in the NBA.
I've liked his game as a bench player, but he's terribly injury prone. Like
Joe said, I think this is a cap move-he comes off the books after next
season. A Philly first-rounder is virtually useless considering the stength
of that team (although I think they took a step back with today's trade of
Ty Hill and Jumaine Jones to Cleveland for Harpring, Henderson and Traylor).

What the deal says is the Celtics feel Moiso is a complete bust. Because if
you believe he's going to develop, you certainly don't trade him now when
his value is lower than it ever has been or ever will be. The only way it
makes sense is if they honestly believe that Moiso is never going to get it,
and eventually will have no value at all.

So we add another swingman. We now have Pierce, Johnson, Brown, Forte,
Williams, McCarty and McLeod at the 2/3, Walker (who should be playing 3),
three centers and three point guards. I'd like to think another deal is
coming to beef up the frontcourt, but it doesn't figure. McLeod had no
value, Williams has negative value, Pierce and Walker aren't going anywhere,
and the rookies can't be traded for a while. Geez... talk about an
imbalanced roster.

Sounds for real.

I guess Potapenko and Battie are our backup PF.

I'd love to know more about the Philly draft pick.

Roshown McLeod only played in one game last year (don't know why yet).

He played three seasons in Atlanta, yet never appeared in more than 44
games.

His third season with the Hawks was his best:

9.9 ppg, 1.71 apg, 1.68 to's, 3.5 rebounds, .436FG, .882FT

Thank heavens, he's a lousy three point shooter (career .130).

Don't know if he was in any Summer leagues. I vaguely recall he was
considered to be a defensive specialist at Duke. He's 26-years-old in
November, listed at 6-7 but a solid 230 pounds. Presumably a college grad.

Look forward to hearing more from you all. I don't know how he fits in yet,
and presume he may just be a cap balancer.

Joe
