Did I miss something? I only saw a little of last night's game, but I swear
I've been seeing plenty of pressing during this winning streak. Sometimes I
think we have a tendancy only to notice the trapping and pressing when it is
done poorly. To be fair, it is a lot easier to notice, because it ends up
with a guy shooting a wide open jumper or dunk. However, Boston pressed
extensively against Dallas, and in general have not abandoned "Pitino Ball"
as far as I can see, they're just plain playing better.

Try to notice how many times you can hear Pitino yelling "White, White,
WHIIIITE" after a made basket. It's the call for the press, and I've been
hearing it a lot lately. In fact, last night I distinctly heard "White,
Danny, White" as he trotted back on D after a tip in. It's pretty obvious
to me that, even when he's playing well out there, he doesn't really know
what he's supposed to be doing.

It's not that I'm much of a fan of "Pitino Ball". For three years it has
seemed to give up far more easy baskets than it should. But, at least when
it is working I'll acknowledge it. The difference in this team lately has
been the play of Antoine and a couple of the others. Not anything that
Pitino is doing differently.
