Leo Papile On The Summer League Prospects, Free Agents, Toine, etc.

Thanks to Det02 on the ESPN Message Boards:

On the Dennis/Callahan show (WEEI) this morning they aired an interview
with Leo Papile of the Celtics. I believe it was taped a couple of days
ago but in any event he discussed several topics including 'Toine and
the Summer League. Papile stated that the C's are very interested in
seeing how Mark Blount performs. He added that he "should dominate" and
if he does he'll likely make the C's regular roster. He added that JaRon
Rush would also be there with fellow teammate Moisu.
He wouldn't discuss free agent talks stating that ONLY Chris Wallace is
allowed to do so and any questions should be directed to Chris. He did
say that the C's are also looking beyond this f/a class to the 2001
group and have had active discussions about that group (?). He stated
that there will be some surprises when Aug. 1 rolls around though he
wouldn't say if any of these "surprises" involved the C's. He contended
that the teams who finished above the C's last year in the East are in
transition and that he thinks the C's can make a decent run at the
playoffs as a result.
Regarding 'Toine he said that all the "internet" rumors are ridiculous
and that most don't even meet the salary cap requirements to begin with.
Beyond that he stated that the C's have received little interest from
other teams (re: Walker)and that they have not solicited offers nor have
they actively shopped his services. Essentially he said that Walker
isn't going anywhere and that should the C's fail to make the playoffs
Pitino isn't going anywhere. He said that the 'alleged' comment about
the C's making the playoffs was said in a "moment of anger and
frustration" and that holding the guy to such a statement is not fair (I
agree).

That's all I can recall at the moment...
