Atlanta Summer Shootout: Old and new faces
NBA hopefuls from all over the league gathered in Atlanta yesterday for the
four-team Atlanta Summer Shootout. The Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee
Bucks, and the hometown Hawks all have teams, many of which include players
that will be on the Celtics' Shaw team and even former Celtic players.
David Vanterpool, Jaron Rush, Mark Blount, and Roberto Bergerson are on the
Miami Heat's roster. Bergerson did not play and Rush's name was totally
absent from the roster for some reason in the Heat's loss against the Hawks,
111-83.
Mark Blount contributed ten points and two rebounds while Vanterpool had
three points, two rebounds, and five assists. Way of Ray favorite Ernest
Brown added 11 points and six rebounds.
Dion Glover led the Hawks with 22 points while both Tim James and Eddie House
led Miami with 15 points each.
Wayne Turner and Dontae Jones grace the Pacers roster, but Indiana lost 98-92
to the Milwaukee Bucks. Turner chipped in six points, four rebounds, and two
assists and Jones added nine points, two rebounds, and two assists.
Former McDonald's phenom Jonathon Bender led all scorers with 26 points and
Rucker Park prodigy Rafer Alston led the Bucks with 22 points and eight
assists.
If anyone wants information on the next Heat game (since it has the most of
our players), please tell me so I can post it on the list. If no one cares,
please tell me as well. Thanks.
