This really does remind me of how difficult it is for young teams in
the league. You can include Derek Anderson in their impressive looking
collection of young talent. Vancouver also reminded me of that; you
have Bibby, a nice young point guard who was the #2 pick; Shareef, one
of the top small forwards in the game (statistically), Harrington
and Dickerson, and a $60 million center. How many high lottery picks
has this team had without coming anywhere close to a respectable season?
Rebuilding is tough when you can't get that one "franchise" type player
(though being in Canada doesn't help). These teams just have to be
thankful for the new CBA for giving them hope for the future.
