I think Clippers loves draft picks (see Lorenzo Wright for 2 no.1s from Hawks deal) becos you can have quality drafted players at cheap salaries locked for 4 years.
The only time Clippers were not cheap was the contract they gave to Loy Vaught, I think he was a loyal (and productive) employee that why he deserves it.

I think this road trip will reveal the outcome. If we lose much that we are out of the playoffs, then I think it would be good to trade KA as his value is highest now, and we need some value to dumpu our deadwood with big contracts (Barros/Willliams/Waltar). His 8M salary space would come in handy. (of course the player/s we are trading for got to be a FA end of season)

IMO, Gill is a servicable veteran with size, play good D and can put up points better than Cheany - only knock is on his locker presence. He is a FA end of season, Gaston needs only to pay about 2.5M for half a season's play. If he is bad, we are rid of his 5M salary.
I think the key here is Fieck. He been Jayson William-like at times, putting up good rebounding numbers. If you trade the Fort, I think you still get rebounding with Fieck. Gaston would love this guy becos he is on 18M/6yr
These 2 who should be more productive than the cap fillers that goes with Fortson. Hell, maybe we can swap no.1s too.

Alex, could you give some suggestions/names as to who with such skills is available? I think Battie can block shots, play man-man D, has the tools (but not 100% ideal, you're right no bulk). He got the wrong instructions/coaching from Pitino - trapping on the perimeter (jeezz!). Bulk is good but not a must (see Hakeem).
Also, how to have the bulk like V and yet run like Battie? Zo can't

I would take this risk too becos the price is a sure thing (Shaq). Kobe, well if he does not work out, no problem, I got the big prize already. Vlade was not the go-to guy or franchise (like Zo, Webber type status), not so much of a "risk" IMO.

Yeah you're right. For me everybody (including Pitino) except Pierce and AG is tradeable. Becos PP and AG has celtic pride, and you can't "build or train" celtic pride.

That time when he was Rookie of the month, I remember him with a outburst (reported in the papers) that basically demands that the Cipps sign Mo Taylor/Derek Anderson if they him (Odom) to stay a clipper in the future. Hah! and this is coming from someone who's wet behind the ears still. I don't want him on my Celtics, talent or not.
