Marbury praises Griffin

>From the New York Times:

BOSTON -- Outside the Nets' locker room Friday night, Red Auerbach, the
legendary Celtics coach, approached Nets Coach Don Casey and offered words
of comfort. "That was a tough loss," Auerbach said. "Hang in there. You'll
get there."

Casey smiled and brought Auerbach into the locker room and introduced him
around, first to Keith Van Horn, then to Kendall Gill, finally to Stephon
Marbury. Marbury told Auerbach he was honored to meet him. On his way out,
Auerbach looked at Casey: "Keep your chin up," he repeated. "You'll get
there."

That's being optimistic. The Nets sustained their eighth loss in nine games
last night, 109-96, to the Celtics. For all the talk about the Nets'
injuries and the team's inability to score, this loss wasn't about a lack
of scoring or missing personnel. This game was about hunger. The Celtics
had it, the Nets did not.

"We came playing like we're 10-1," Marbury said. "We weren't playing
defense. We were just going through the motions. Look at Adrian Griffin."

That was mostly what the Nets did last night. Look. Griffin made 7 of 10
shots and scored 16 points. Marbury was impressed.

For the last two seasons, Griffin played in the Continental Basketball
Association. He spent a summer in Italy and two seasons in the United
States Basketball League.

"I'd like to have him on my team," Marbury said. "He doesn't complain
about not getting the ball. He's hungry. He's been in the C.B.A.; those
guys, they don't want to get shipped back."

If Marbury wants to play with Griffin, he just needs to demand a trade
to the Celtics =) I'm sure we could find a place for him.
