RE: Chicago wins lottery - seems awfully fishy

One problem though. The Celtics were a long way from a championship. The
Bulls have just won 6. Also, as noted on the Jim Rome show, the Bricks
getting the #1 to pick Ewing was a bit fishy. The NBA fixes its lottery
when it works for the NBA. It does no good for the NBA to have all the
small market teams on the up, and the large market teams crapping in their
respective mess kits. Come on, think of this like any other business,
bigger is better.

Also, whatever happened to the NBA doing the lottery with Ping Pong
balls...now they do it in some back room and have the envelopes delivered by
Cousin Vine......WEIRD!

<<From a devil's advocate perspective: would the league shamelessly
"stack the deck," thereby enabling the big-market, former headline
attraction team to theoretically procure the player that would make them
glamorous again ?>>

I thought the same way in '97 when the celts were competing for the #1 pick,
Old dynasty competing to be on top again, why wouldnt the NBA want the
celtics back on top again, considering the rebuilding of the lakers, a
Celtics/ Lakers rivalry for the millennium. but we all know what happened
that year dont we? Awh well Tim Duncan's a possible MVP candidate and were
still waiting on ping pong balls..
	just a thought..
